RESORT 26 SPOTLIGHT: Fadeyi Dress

Dear Beautiful Souls,

I’ve been thinking a lot about the feeling of ease; the kind that comes when you put something on and it just works without needing much from you.

That’s how the Fadeyi Dress came to life.

It’s simple in shape — loose, short, and easy to pull on, but the fabric carries so much story. The stripes are hand-dyed in Nigeria using traditional techniques that our artisans have practiced for generations. Every time I see the finished cloth, I’m reminded how much care goes into something that can feel so effortless once it’s worn.

When we designed this one, I wanted it to feel playful and uncomplicated. A dress you throw on when the day is open and you don’t want to think too hard about what you’re wearing. The kind you reach for on warm mornings, quick coffee runs, or evenings that start casually and turn into something more.

It’s short, light, and roomy — with pockets, of course.

Like everything we make at BUSAYO, the Fadeyi Dress begins in Nigeria and carries that story with it wherever it goes. I always love imagining where these pieces will end up and the lives they’ll be part of.
