Obinrin Skirt

The Obinrin is the woman, in thread. Chain-stitch circles in royal blue and olive ring the skirt in rows; flowers climb the hem; the whole thing ends in a scalloped line drawn one stitch at a time. White cotton, midi, straight to the knee. Embroidered in Lagos. Nothing about it is decorative. All of it is declarative.
